Pancreatitis (Pancreatitis)

Erik Weigel

49 years old

At the end of January 2002, Erik Weigel experienced severe pain in his diaphragm.

He was given a painkiller and stomach ulcer pill (Nexium).

The pain continued and the doctor determined via blood test that Erik had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) and prescribed painkillers again, this time Pethidine.

The pain disappeared after 10 days, but returned after a month.

At Svendborg Hospital, the doctor determined via ultrasound that the stomach and duodenum were fine except for some cholesterol polyps in the gallbladder.

However, these should not cause pancreatitis or gallstone pain.

Over the next few months, the pain from the pancreatitis came and went .

In May, a gastroscopy examination showed nothing abnormal.

The doctors concluded that removing the gallbladder could be considered .

But new blood tests showed that the fat/cholesterol numbers were within the normal range.

On May 22, Erik started taking BIOFEDORA™.

For the first 5 days he took about 50 ml 3 times daily.

Then 20-30 ml 3 times daily.

During that time, he had no pain, but increased energy and general well-being .

He has not noticed this during the periods when the pancreatitis has otherwise been gone.

The last blood tests were normal.

If he only takes 20 ml once a day (he was running out of BIOFEDORA™!) he experiences increased fatigue and discomfort (not pain) from the pancreas.

Now he goes back to a dose of 30 ml 3 times daily for a longer period of time before he possibly attempts to complete the course.

Erik himself believes that the cause of the pancreatitis is that he has been stressed (work/private) for several years, which may have, among other things, broken down his immune system.

He is not nervous or ' nervous ' at all .

He has been a blood donor for 30 years without any problems. (He is 49 years old, weighs 85 kg and is 1.90 m tall).
