BIOSAHERB™ ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVATION

BiosaHerb™ Environment Starter Culture is supplied by us as a concentrated starter culture that is in a "dormant" state. Before use, the starter culture is mixed with water, sugar cane molasses, seaweed flour and sea salt, after which activation occurs, where the amount of microorganisms multiplies. To ensure correct development of the different types of organisms, activation can only be done once. This means that a new starter culture must be used each time.

The mixing ratio for activating BiosaHerb™ Environmental starter culture:

  • 94% hot water (between 38 and 40 degrees)
  • 3% Sugarcane molasses
  • 3% BiosaHerb™ Environmental starter culture
  • 0.3% seaweed flour
  • 0.3% sea salt
  • Preferably around 0.2% herbs (read more about herbs below)

Procedure

Molasses and water
  • Fill a clean steel or plastic container with lukewarm water (not chlorinated water).
  • It is important that the container used is clean!
  • Dissolve cane molasses in hot water and
pour it into the plastic container. If you are using a pressure washer to dissolve the cane molasses, do not add the starter culture when the water contains a lot of air (the water is gray).

Temperature
  • Add BiosaHerb™ Environmental starter culture when the water and molasses are between 38 and 40 degrees, and stir.

PH value
  • When the pH value is lower than 4, add 0.3% sea salt, 0.3% seaweed flour and optionally herbs. Seaweed flour and optionally herbs can be filled into a large and loose cloth bag, which will be easy to remove after the activation process. If the finished product is to be used for spraying or through a field sprayer, it is recommended to use a large and loose cloth bag to prevent it from settling in the nozzles. The sea salt is stirred into water before adding.

Use of herbs
When activating BiosaHerb™ Environment, it is possible to increase the effectiveness of the product by adding local herbs along the way. The herbs are finely chopped and can optionally be filled into a large, loose fabric bag that is easy to remove after propagation.

Depending on the intended use, you are free to choose between herbs/weeds that are known to be effective (see various herbal books). Remember to use pure herbs without soil and roots!

Examples include:
Nettle, dandelion, horsetail, mint species, birch leaves, seaweed, tagetes, burdock root and clover. It is recommended to use several types of plants together. This results in a great diversity of bioactive substances and greater stimulation to promote the growth of microorganisms.

Temperature is important.

water heater

During activation, the mixture should have a temperature between 30°C and 39°C. Heating can be done with a 300 watt aquarium heater. After about 5 days , remove the heating element and stir gently.
Remove any foam and added herbs. After another 3 days, the activation is ready for use. If you are not using a heating element, keep the container warm (20-35°C), but not in direct sunlight. At temperatures below 30°C, the process may take a little longer.

Anaerobic activation process
The activation should preferably take place without too much access to oxygen. A piece of plastic on the surface of the liquid will be suitable to provide good conditions. During the process, CO2 is formed, which can be seen as bubbles on the surface. This CO2 will create excess pressure if the activation takes place in an airtight container. Therefore, any lid should be loose until the process is complete after a total of 8-10 days. If you have access to a pH meter, you can follow the formation of lactic acid. The process will be complete at a pH value of approx. 3.5.

Storage and shelf life
If the activation has taken place under good hygienic conditions, the product has a good shelf life. If stored in clean, filled jars at a constant temperature and protected from light, it can be stored for up to 12 months.
